Madhavi, As I mentioned in the post we do not celebrate.
Varalakshmiviratham as we are Iyengars. but being a staunch devotee of ambal I perform a pooja with a neivedyam.I prepared akkara vadesil as the prasaadam. I’ll make appam for Upakarma and post it on tuesday.

That is such a decent arrangement for vratam. We too do varalakshmi vratam but we put kalasam in my mother’s side. I did not get to do vratam after marriage as I came down to US. I just do pooja and make 3 different varieties usually.

Thank you Archana for visiting my blog. IAm glad that my award reached you right in time of onam to make it a perfect gift for you! Even though I had other jewelry, this one truely made me shine that day.
I just forgot abt it that you won’t be celebrating pooja that day.And for all those traditinal recipes and the fact that while many people like my mom and others of previous generation are still learning only to chat and mail, you are a step ahead into blogging and sharing your culinary skills with us at this age,I felt you and Ashaji truely deserve this award.
Oh u r welcome dear!and it was my pleasure to share all of this with you dear frns.Yes Richa! I was not only thrilled but also shocked because I always got nice surprise gifts for other important days like b’days but I never expected such a kind of gift for lakshmi pooja in my 5 years of married life.
Thanks ASha!I made 9 varieties of offerings for neivedyama for the deity. That was a special meal for us that day and I was busy all though out the day that i cud not take the pictures.
    Thanks Chandrika.
    Thanks for stopping by Viji!
    Thanks Hima.
I do this pooja where ever Iam .I just carry with me small things part of regular pooja room and other’s I get from the place Iam staying manage with whatever I have.
    thanks Sneha.
Oh I got to know now that ypu have another blog. Thanks for letting me know. You all really deserve this award.
Thanks Lakshmi. You really deserve to be linked.Because the sweet really came out too good and it came out good only after i tried from your blog.I tried this sweet earlier but it was a disaster in my kitchen.Scared of disasters and wasting ingrediensts I usually don’t try new sweets.I din’t bring any of my silver pooja items this time Lakshmi!Btw what is villakku?
    Is it a tamil word?

    Hi Madhavi

I guess you must be really thrilled by now.ENjoy ur first happiness after the puja.I think you are now seeing the results of your hardwork you have done till now.Managing a little 20month old and doing all these things is very tough. But now you have proved that you can achieve things with a little hardwork

    happy na madhavi
